Fabsil's Summer of Festivals

Fabsil's Summer of Festivals

Festival season has officially kicked off with fields, parks, campsites and country estates hosting summer festivities all across the country. Some major festivals have come and passed us by in June, such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Parklife and Download, but don’t worry, there are still plenty of events heading our way from all over the UK. Here at Fabsil, we’ve been keeping our ear to the ground to ensure we can provide you with a comprehensive cross-section of festivals occurring nationwide in July and August. And we’re not just talking about music festivals, but festivals dedicated to families, camping, caravans, motorhomes and cars, too.

July

Goodwood Festival of Speed, 11th-14th

Car fans assemble! This is a car festival like no other. Celebrating all motorsports, Goodwood Festival of Speed is a place for petrolheads to come together and enjoy all things relating to car culture. You can witness nail-biting races, meet motorsports' biggest stars and observe racing cars from the past, present and future.

The Norfolk Motorhome & Campervan Show, 19th-21st

Filled with motorhomes, campervans, van conversions, motorhome essentials and camping equipment, this is an event for every avid outdoorsman. There’s availability to buy pitches or day passes, this Norwich-based festival is filled with lively performers, an onsite 50s-themed salon and barbershop and a plethora of outdoors traders to keep your van necessities topped up.

Camp Bestival (Dorset, 25th-28th July or Shropshire, 15th-18th August)

With retro fairground rides, an impressive musical lineup and enough family activities to shake a stick at, this festival promotes mental well-being, ensuring all participants experience a whole lotta fun in the process. Camp Bestival can be found at two locations on two dates: the first in Dorset and the second in Shropshire, so if you can’t make it to one, at least you get another chance!

Latitude Festival, 25th-28th

Latitude offers campervan, caravan and motorhome passes as well as weekend, family and luxury camping tickets and the ability to purchase day passes, so however you’re planning your visit, there is something to cater for all. Headliners include Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane and London Grammar and it’s fixed to be an electrifying few days!

August

Kendal Calling, 1st-4th

A well-known music festival, Kendal Calling is set amongst the beautiful Lake District in the quaint town of Kendal. Kid-friendly and filled with lots of enticing activities (including an award-winning ale festival, featuring the finest local ales and craft beers), Kendal Calling is popular for a reason – the masses can’t be wrong! Kendal is also known for its annual fancy dress party on the last day. This year’s theme is the High Seas, so remember to pack your sea legs.

The Green Man Festival, 15th-18th

Located within the scenic surroundings of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Wales, The Green Man is a festival for those who love to embrace their wild side. The entertainment on offer includes exciting musical acts, comedy performances, cinema screenings and literature talks. There is a big emphasis on sustainability at Green Man, with plenty of measures being put in place to ensure the festival lives up to its verdant moniker. There are different camping passes you can purchase, such as live-in vehicle tickets for campervans, etc., and availability to stay in pre-made tents, saving you from lugging your own there and back.

Camper Calling, 23rd-25th

This family-friendly festival takes place during the August bank holiday, welcoming campers with their tents, motorhomes, caravans or campervans to the Warwickshire countryside. Brimming with entertainment, from artists such as Travis, Jessie J and Groove Armada, and activities, including arts and crafts workshops and outdoor pursuits, Camper Calling is your one-stop destination for family fun this summer.

Silverstone Motorsport Festival, 23rd-25th

Into cars? Love racing? Enjoy live music? Silverstone Motorsport Festival is the place for you. Spread over the August bank holiday weekend, there is so much jampacked into this festival – it’s enough to make your head do doughnuts.

Beach Gathering, 23rd-26th

Held at Budle Bay Farm in Northumberland, Beach Gathering is all about reconnecting with your wild side in a relaxed environment, offering one last celebration at the end of the summer holidays. Away from the hustle and bustle of our busy, stressful lives, Beach Gathering is open to everyone (dogs included!) and what it lacks in entertainment, it certainly makes up for in stunning ocean views. This event is perfect for families that want to make the most of the last Bank holiday weekend before the kids go back to school. So why not end their summer with a trip to Budle Bay Farm, offering a calming weekend before the stresses of school begin? Vans, caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome.

British festivals really have something for everyone, so no matter if you’re attending a heavy weekend filled with music in the middle of a field or visiting a relaxing corner of the country with nothing but your campervan and the need for peace and quiet, Fabsil can keep your tents and outdoor gear protected from rain, stains and UV rays. Whatever the weather throws our way this summer, let’s make the most of it, get outdoors and have a #fabsiladventure.
